Sacramental Preparation

Our Sacramental preparation programme is based within the Parish of St Augustine's and follows the model requested by Bishop Marcus, one of Family Catechesis. As a school, we support the programme wholeheartedly and work alongside Catachists from the parish to ensure our children are well prepared.

 

 

Applications forms are available at church and school and are returned to Fr Ghebreyesus Woldekidan.

Please see below key dates and information for each Sacrament to be celebrated this year.

 

 

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR THE SACRAMENTS?


Please read the following information carefully regarding Sacramental Application
Sacrament of Baptism
Application forms for the Sacrament of Baptism of a child, are displayed in the church all year round.
We strongly advice and prefer that Baptisms are not celebrated in Lent or in Advent.
Baptism of children will be celebrated on a Saturday at 11am or 1pm.


Sacrament of Reconciliation
Application forms for First Confession will be available from January the 1st.
Lessons will start in February and the Sacrament of Confession will be celebrated in March.


Sacrament of First Holy Communion

Application forms for first Holy Communion will be available
from April the 1st. Lessons will start from the middle of April and the Sacrament of First Holy
Communion will be celebrated in the middle of June.
 

Sacrament of Confirmation

Application Forms for the Sacrament of Confirmation will be available
from November the 1st Lessons will start from 1st December, and the Sacrament of Confirmation will be
celebrated at the end of January by Bishop Marcus Stock.
 

Reception of Adult Catechumens

Application Forms for adult Baptism, First Holy Communion and
the Sacrament of Confirmation will be available from January. Lessons will be start in February and
Catechumens will be received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.
