Examples of reading books and questions

These are the question cards we use in school when reading stories with the children. We look at the pictures and ask “who is that?”, “what are they doing?”, “where are they doing it?”, “when did they do it?” And “why did they do it?”. These might be helpful to you when reading.

Word Walls

Here are all the word walls so you can keep practicing them at home with your child.
If your child can recognise all the words, have a go at writing them too! (Tapestry Link)

Sentence Writing

Look at the pictures. Each one has a person or animal, an action that they are doing and a place. Can your child write the sentence? For example, ‘The man is eating in the shop’, or ‘ The monkey is playing in the car’.
Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and lovely cursive handwriting! (Tapestry Link)
