W/C 18th March 2019                                                        Issue 18

The Action In Faith group are organising an “Ambitions Day” in school on Friday 5th April. This means we ask the children to come to school dressed in clothes to match the job they would like to do when they grow up.

For example, if they would like to be a fireman, that is what we would like them to dress as. The cost of this is 50p to go towards our Lenten fundraising.

On Tuesday 26th March there will be a Bun Sale in school. The cost of the buns will start at 30p each. Please bring your buns and cake donations in to school from Monday 25th. If you would like the containers returned please label them with your child’s name and class. The buns and cakes will be on sale to the children at morning playtime and also after school so please bring your money with you and treat the family to cakes after tea.

We have had a very positive response to the proposed new school dinner menu which gives the children 4 choices. There will be more information to follow but the start date for this is hopefully after the Easter break.  Children in FS2 up

to and including year 2 are all entitled to a universal free school meal, however if you or your child are in receipt of any of the benefits on the back of this newsletter  we would urge you to claim as the school receives extra funding. If your child does want to change from packed lunches to school dinners or the other way round we need to know before school closes for the half term holidays.

Can we ask all parents NOT to send any types of nuts in to school with their children. We have a number of children with nut allergies and some of the reactions to nuts can be quite severe.

A local parish have donated a number of coats, towels, bedding and some clothing for us to share with any parents who might be struggling at this time. The items will be put on display in the hall from 2.45pm on Friday 29th March. All we ask is that you make a small donation if possible. The hope is that we can run this type of sale on the last Friday of each month with contributions from this very kind parish and ask that if you have any clothes etc that are in good condition you could contribute them to the stall and help other families in need out.
