W/C 4th March 2019                                                        Issue 16

This week is Book Week when lots of exciting things will be happening in school. A letter was sent home giving details of this and also about the Book Fair which will be in school from 3.15 – 3.45 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please come in to the hall with your child and look at the lovely books for sale. Don’t forget to bring your £1 book token with you.

On Monday 11th March we will be starting to sell numbers for our Mother’s Day Raffle. The numbers will be 30p each and your child can buy as few or as many as they like. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 29th March.

By now you will have noticed the new signs and road markings round school. We have been informed that the police and road safety teams will be patrolling the area and because the signs are now in place the no parking law is now enforceable. Tickets WILL be issued to drivers failing to comply with the signs and markings on the road.

Please remember to book your appointment for Parents Evenings on Wednesday 13th or Thursday 14th March. You can find a link on the school website.

The theme for our Lenten fundraising for CAFOD this year is ‘Give It Up’ and started with some of the children watching a video about how the money they raise will be spent. If you would like to watch this video with your children the link to it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PX7b08cguA This video shows how the £1 we spend on a small bar of chocolate could buy a fruit tree for a family as well as many other things.

The children have been asked to save their pennies and put them in the CAFOD boxes in class.  Each class will then think about what they would like to ‘buy’ with the money they have raised.
