W/C 11th February 2019                                                        Issue 14

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have received an email for Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School about the provision of school transport. The changes would affect all the children who will be attending High School and require school transport.

Schools, parents, pupils and others are invited to complete a questionnaire hosted on the Combined Authority’s consultation and engagement website where you can also find out more details about the proposed changes. We have also been asked to invite you to participate by signposting you to the Yourvoice website.

We were delighted to find out that 50 of our pupils have had their work published in ‘Young Writers – Spooky Stories’. This really is a fantastic achievement, well done to you all and also to the children who didn’t quite manage to get published this time but put everything in to their writing.

We have been asked by the Road Safety team to share a link to their website which is about parking safely at school. Please look at their site and take notice of what it says. The way cars are parked both mornings and afternoons at school is really quite concerning. It is only a matter of time before something serious happens.

Do you want your child to be the one that proves what we have been saying is right? The site for Road Safety is https://saferroadsleeds.wordpress.com/2019/01/30/schoolgateparking/

You can follow their campaigns on Twitter at  https://twitter.com/SaferRoadsLeeds

Last week at the Cross Country all of our children did exceptionally well, Aiden, Obi and Mosunmola excelled themselves. Aiden and Obi have qualified for the West Yorkshire finals. We are very proud of all the children who took part. Well Done everyone!

The year 5 children had a fabulous time at Robinwood. There were so many activities for them to try and they all joined in with everything. No one was put off any of the tasks and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

I think some of them even surprised themselves at the things they managed to do. A big thank you to the staff for taking the children and also to the children for being so well behaved.
